Babies have conversations long before they speak words. They learn and gain understanding though all interactions. Because of this, feeding babies is so much more than just giving them food. While they are in your arms, they are receiving social interaction and emotional security. As parents, we learn our baby’s cues and our baby learns to trust us. We recognize when our baby is alert and ready to interact, when they are sleepy, when they are hungry or when they have had enough to eat.
Watch the VideoThis toolkit and video series was developed to help grandparents who are caring for their grandchildren, whether you are living with them or just watching them a few days per week. The goal is to help increase your confidence and knowledge about common issues, and to learn about available resources for grandparents.
